Petite Anse beach
Les Anses d'ArletPetite Anse Beach Anses d'Arlets : Pictures and description
The beach of Petite Anse next to the Anses d'Arlet, located in Martinique, is characterized by its thin strip of sand and pebbles, making it more of a place to stroll than a destination to spend a full day.
To get there, follow departmental 7 along the Caribbean coast. Be careful, the “Route des Anses” can, sometimes, be steep… Arriving at Anses d’Arlet, follow the D37 for a few kilometers. The beach will be on your right.
The surrounding landscape offers a peaceful atmosphere, which is maintained even on weekends, unlike other busier beaches.
However, what sets Petite Anse beach apart is the presence of hot water springs, nestled at the foot of Morne Jacqueline. These springs provide a relaxing soak for those looking to unwind. Each of the small hot water pools can only accommodate two people at a time. The water in these pools maintains a stable temperature of around 25°C, making it a calming experience.
South of the Petite Anse you will find Morne Champagne, a hill approximately 190 meters above sea level. This mountain offers an excellent view of the region. A hike to the summit of Morne Champagne is an enriching experience. The trail is well marked and takes you through lush forest before reaching the summit. From here you can enjoy panoramic views of the coast and the Caribbean Sea.
