Philipsburg

Philipsburg is the Dutch capital of the island. The city runs from Salt Pond to the beach on the seafront. The port of Pointe-Blanche hosts cruise ships. Stroll along Front Street and Back Street, the two main streets of the Dutch capital with their duty-free shops and typical houses.

The Courthouse, the courthouse on Front Street has a pineapple on its roof!

Philipsburg is located between an ancient Salt Pond and the sea. The first Dutch settlers decided to build a village there.

The seafront which does not admit the cars has a nice beach well arranged where the sea is calm.

Old Street, is a reconstituted neighborhood in the Dutch style with pastel colored houses.

The museum of Sint-Maarten presents the history of the island, from the time of the Arawaks to today.

Fort Amsterdam, the first fort built by the Dutch in the Caribbean islands now has only ruins and cannon. Admire the view of the Dutch capital from this fort.

Lay on Little Cay beach and Cay Bay beach, beautiful beaches close to the city.
