Little Bay beach
PhilipsburgLittle Bay Saint-Martin : Pictures and description
Little Bay Beach is situated in the southwestern part of the Dutch side of the island of Saint Martin. It is separated from Great Bay Beach by the peninsula where Fort Amsterdam is located. This white sandy beach is well sheltered by the peninsula.
Little Bay is often considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Saint Martin. While it is primarily frequented by vacationers and bordered by several hotel resorts, it remains open to the public. Visitors can rent sunbeds or make use of the hotel facilities for refreshments and meals.
The beach also offers an excellent opportunity for snorkeling, especially around the rocky areas, where you can discover a variety of marine life and vibrant underwater ecosystems. Thanks to reforestation efforts undertaken by the Nature Foundation, Little Bay has become a sanctuary for birds, providing a peaceful haven for them, including pelicans.
The presence of Fort Amsterdam on the adjacent peninsula adds a historical dimension to the region. Visitors can explore the fort, which is a testament to the island's rich past and offers panoramic views of the surrounding coastline. It's a great spot for history enthusiasts and photographers, and it can be reached by swimming or kayaking from Little Bay Beach.
The beach is easily accessible within a few minutes by car from our villa rental offers in Saint Martin.
