Pinel Island
Cul de SacPinel Island Saint Martin: Pictures and description
Pinel island, located on the east coast of Saint-Martin, is a small island within the Nature Reserve. To get there, you take a shuttle from the Cul-de-Sac pier, offering an atmosphere of escape. It's a relaxing day on a small island adorned with palm trees and cacti.
A large car park at the Cul-de-Sac pier allows you to park your car. The shuttles to Pinel island run back and forth every half hour, every day from 10 a.m., for a price of 10 euros (last return at 4:30 p.m.). The crossing lasts 5 minutes, and you can also use kayak, paddle, or zodiac to get there.
Pinel island offers two distinct beaches. The first, facing Cul-de-Sac, is well protected and has two restaurants offering Caribbean cuisine, local fish and lobsters. On the other side of the island, we find the second beach, wilder and rockier. To get there, a short walk of around 10 minutes across the coastal heath and following a path allows you to discover this undeveloped beach. It is a wild place where the Atlantic Ocean expresses all its force, offering an interesting contrast with the more protected beach.
Pinel island is also an ideal place for snorkeling, with an underwater path near the boat arrival pontoon. Snorkeling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore the waters rich in flora and fauna, with the possibility of observing turtles, conchs and a variety of colorful fish, at a depth of between 5 and 10 meters.
The luxury villa rentals in Saint Martin closest to Pinel island are located in Orient Bay or, less numerous, in Cul de Sac.
